Metered Internet service

Fortunately, I just dropped Time Warner. Unfortunately, I believe all other companies will follow suit.

Just a matter of time. I'm not surprised. Fortunately I signed up with Qwest's one price for life. I've got 7 MB and it suits me fine.

This will really effect the online gaming and downloading.
I believe Netflix just started a downloading service.

I wonder how the hackers and pirates are going to get around this? There's always a way around.

wonder how this will affect online gaming on say, an Xbox or a PS3? Maybe I'm dumb, but can they monitor this?

They already want to control the net more now than ever because it's a place where people an relay ideas, communicate across the world and voice their opinions.
Of course they use the "cyber crime" excuse and "global espionage" as their platform. They want you to be so worried about this that you'll say
"well..they are doing it for our own good." Spin doctors hard at work.
They might try squeezing more people first by using the metered internet service. Gradually they'll worm their way in and control more and more until,
everything you see and hear will be completely censored.

Screw 'em. I'll drop every Company that adopts this. If it means no Internet for me, then so be it. I know I'll be in the minority, but that's the only way to hurt these guys. Sadly, Folks have turned overpriced things like Cell phones and computers into items of necessity. Trust me, you can live without them, and probably even develop *gasp* better social skills.
