If it means no Internet for me, then so be it. I know I'll be in the minority, but that's the only way to hurt these guys. Sadly, Folks have turned overpriced things like Cell phones and computers into items of necessity. Trust me, you can live without them, and probably even develop *gasp* better social skills.

Ditto i'll just hijack someones wifi signal.

This kind of crap is why the US keeps falling behind in internet infrastructure compared to other countries in the world. The internet is a massive resource and falling behind shouldn't be an option.
When I was in Boston like 2 years ago, we got FIOS in the apartment I was staying at. Now THAT was quality internet right there. I know it's spread to more of the US, but I haven't followed the news and see if Verizon has pulled any BS like Time Warner is pulling here, hopefully not.

http://download.cnet.com/BitMeter/30...-10398686.html
if you dont have a meter here is a free one. i have been downloading like crazy for a month here and there and doing nothing for a month here and there. i have not gone over 40gb. on average use i use around 25gb. this isnt that big of a problem. i already pay $40 a month fot cox cable internet so i wont see a change whenever they switch to this as well.
my problem with the companies is when they start blocking websites. timewarner is the antichrist. they will for sure block sites that have anything to do with sony or competitors. they will charge a fee to see those sites i am sure this will happen. thats when i am done and the internet just becomes an email device again.
i do have to have the internet for work though. my wife is a software engineer with a wireless company. once they make this switch i will make the internet, my cellphones, anything else related a tax write off to show that i am unhappy.

You're doing both while playing games, actually. You're sending data to the game server (your actions) and the game server is sending data back (actions of other people). Certain games use a good amount of bandwidth! But yeah, it varies per games, some are quite easy on the bandwidth.

I don't think this would make any difference to me. I don't download much per month.
