Jae is a super nice guy, I couldn't even imagine the lack of communication being anything other than a busy schedule and forgetfulness.

Nice wouldn't absolve you of the requirement to communicate. However that's not an issue as he responds promptly (at least to me). Just going on 10 months and no art.

This all ties into the discussion on the EVS thread about getting the art eventually (not the theft aspect). In October I was very excited about my commission. Couldn't wait to see a prelim or two and discuss the composition with Jae. That "oooooooooo can't wait to see it" has turned into a "I hope I get something" -- not the same emotional level.

That seems to be a common thread here lately, although it's not altogether a new problem for some artists/commission experiences. I get the sense that most of these are "at home" commissions. Do people think that it's more exclusive to this type of commission request vs the ones done other ways (i.e. pre-orders to pick up at a convention)? Not trying to derail the thread, but am curious.

i didnt get in - too expensive - but did get this at a show via my buddy cam:
http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryp...?piece=1227771
from what i heard and which is apparently true, he is taking his time on these at home commissions (apparently quite a bit of time). but from what he posts online, his commissions have been really really good - especially his multi character pieces.
was he not clear that these would take a while? from a couple i have heard from he was pretty open about that.

He always responds to me which is good and was quick to complete my first round of pieces. Just waiting on a few other pieces
