Exclamation Congratulations KU!!

Anybody see the college men's basketball national title Finals? What a helluva game!

Kansas was down 9 points with 2 minutes to go. Memphis blew several shots and free throws, Kansas brought it to within three points and then Mario Chalmers sunk a 3 pointer to tie the game with about 2 seconds to go, sending it into overtime! KU then won it in overtime!

Though I'm now a Kansas resident (moved here in 1997), I lived on the east coast (MA and NY) all my life. I roll my eyes whenever I hear about the KU/K. State rivalries here, but this was an incredibly exciting game and KU really, really pulled it out in a hugely major way.

Here's the story for those who may want to read it:

I heard an interview with one Memphis player who commented that it really wasn't missing the free throws that hurt them. If they'd done better in other areas of their game the free throws wouldn't have mattered.

Idiotic statement. The fact is, they blew their 9 point lead with 2 minutes to go and then missed 4 out of 5 free throws on their way to the game's being tied. If they'd made those free throws there'd have been no overtime!

Yeah, they've got to be kicking themselves!

I'm not blaming a 18-20 yr old for making a dumb or rash statement. Congrats KU on the victory.

Blaming them wasn't my point and I didn't mean to imply otherwise. The statement was one of denial or ignorance, but it was just after the heat of the moment.
