The Robocop thing happened in like 90 or 91. Both WCW and WWF were in the middle of a downtime in terms of popularity, like wrestling is today.

The true "Golden Age" of the modern era was the WCW vs. WWF Monday Night War. Those years from 1996-2000 were the best.

I disagree. I love the 80's: Horsemen at their peak, Starrcade, Dusty Rhodes, the Garvins, UWF and Midsouth Wrestling in their heydey; Road Warriors, etc.

I've always gone by this theory:

Much like comics, wrestling has had their golden age (1950's-60's Territory System), their silver age (WWF Hulkamania 1980's), their bronze age (late 90s Monday Night wars/ECW) and their modern age.

Kane and the corpse was a memory I wish to erase. I never understood the popularity of Robocop it was Jonny 5 (Short Circuit) with a gun.
