Very surprising the Ex is being sold so low. I thought it would hold $2k values, and I'm sure the easy ability of recasters to recast that Ex head hurt it's value a lot. I don't think Magneto on throne is any better than this piece and there are a ton of great custom Mags on the market, yet that one holds it's high value just fine.

Personally, I don't really care what the resale value for this statue is. Never bought it with the intention of reselling it. Bought this statue because I like it and plan on keeping it.

Same goes with my XM Mags on Throne statue. Don't really care what the resale value of that statue either. Bought it because I like it and plan on keeping it. Its the joy of having it and being able to see it ...to me, that's the value of both these statues.

I think the market is flooded with statue options and the hype machine on this piece has receded like an aging mans hairline. Look what else you can buy out there for $2K. People really eager for this Thanos? So many other good options for less out there...

At this price point you can consider Thanos AND Lady Death from XM...

I'm sure I predicted this somewhere in this giant thread, but I can't be bothered to find the post.

This isn't 2007 anymore. There aren't going to be Doom on Throne anomalies where pieces hit 10x retail, and you can count on every exclusive doubling in price after it sells out. The after-market is FLOODED with stuff. It's a completely different climate than it was 2007-2013.

I get that this hobby is growing, but unlike so many other collectibles where you can accumulate and hoard, you can't do that with statues because no one has the space. Which inevitably means that as time goes on, the market becomes less and less able to absorb the glut of long-time collectors moving old pieces to pay for the new. Not to mention the fact that this hobby is driven by "new and better", so even if we do get tons of new collectors, how many are going to go back, deep into the catalog to buy those older pieces?

I love the hobby, but I keep my expectations of "value" extremely low.

Good points . It’s hard to break even these days another factor killing the hobby is yearly spikes in shipping for this stuff . It’s just gotten to the point that 1/4 scale pieces I have zero choice but to try and offload locally which really limits my potential sales
