Calgary is 3 hours away, and where I am as well.
Bmutha is from there and one of the other reviewers if I am not mistaken.
What in the world has Edmonton on the mind of my Irish compatriot?

Hey guys my brother is immigrating to Edmonton on Friday. He is a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer. He has accommodation lined up and is on a two year visa to see if he can make a go of it over there. He is looking for work in his field of expertise. If any of you know any company in that field hiring you might give me a PM.

Cheers mate. His visa allows him to move around apart from Quebec. I think you have to speak French to get a job there. Will see how he gets on in Edmonton first.

Edmonton / Calgary are always looking for people with skills. If he wants to go to Saskatchewan, he will surely get a job there. Not many people want to work in those cold provinces... That's why they pay the most with lower taxes too.

Saskatchewan is probably the least desirable province to live. It's way too humid and hot in the summer and way too cold in the winter. Actually any provinces without trees is just too damn cold to live in. My boss offered me a job to work in Calgary & Sask recently for more $$$ but I couldn't live in those unpleasant weather provinces (especially Sask). I rather pay high taxes, make less $$ but have a better lifestyle then moving to those provinces.
