This sounds sad and funny at the same time.
I like the quote, "Art is never finished, only abandoned."
Beast just got abandoned pretty soon.
Like others, I feel bad for the fans, and of course SS. Nevertheless, we got home runs too: Constantine, Cad Bane, etc. Folks got to make ( and hope, find) peace with that.

They did tell us that Beast is based on the animated series. In my mind, that does set it apart from the rest of the X-Men line.

They said inspired by I think. In my mind it does not set it apart from the rest of the X-Men line anymore than saying the new Magneto is inspired by Jim Lee's cover or that their Jean Grey was inspired by the Bowen statue.
Beast is still done in realistic style and he does not look animated like a JSC style piece or say something lifted from Batman the Animated series. Same with Sideshow's Scarecrow which is clearly not the same inspiration as their current Batman direction and more brightly colored but still intended as a realistic take.
I do not take their comment to mean a possibility of the X-Men imagined in a realistic animated style. Beside this and X-23 are going over like a lead balloon.

Yeah they said inspired.
Somebody is straight up lying. lol. They made a Beast. Their own Beast. It looks like any other Beast yet no one Beast in particular and definitely not the 90s Fox one. ‘97 is closer to what they did. Maybe they were inspired by the animated series but they clearly ran away with the results. That’s the same type of inspiration that made X-23 a half Pixar/half Bratz hybrid with a smirk and named it “Uncaged”.
They needed that Magneto, Bishop type of inspiration.

For some reason, Magneto has never interested me.
Attempting to form an opinion on the statue is difficult.

Yeah...big one holding me back is the space...some good shots of it in a collection might sway me regardless
