This is why you don't use glass shelves.

Holy moly! I saw this pic just now and feel so bad for GR. Then I see all the many expensive statues on the bottom all destroyed. That's why I'm starting to really wished the statues are not solid. Some hollow is better for displaying. My shelves is all bending forward because of the weight of these things. That's a lot of money gone there. Repairing them would cost as much as the statue itself for the destroyed statues. What a grim day for the collector. Hope he's super rich and can replace these with no issues or insured them.

mag's doesn't look like he's damaged although he might have some paint chips... GR seems fine... but yeah all those SS statues looked shattered.

I'd be so sick to my stomach walking into the door and seeing that... All my shelves are solid wood. I didn't want to take a chance on glass.

I think Mags is damaged. I don't see his head ...and his throne is definitely damaged ...as I don't see the sentinel fingers.

The worst part is seeing all those statues ...not just Mags and GR ...straight up destroyed. Damn ...that sucks to see!

I don't think that breakage had anything to do with the glass, it had everything to do with the supporting studs/fasteners. The shelves are dislodged, but the glass is intact.

The same thing can happen with wooden shelves if they are not supported properly.

I will say you can see that most of the XM piece held their own. Jean/Phoenix seems to be mostly intact (bird lost a wing), Black Widow is alive in the other corner, Magneto is probably just scratched, and well GR reigns over them all.

Poor Doctor Strange is toast though.

A conclusion is simply the place where you got tired of thinking.

Correct. It's not the glass that failed. It was the support holding the glass that failed. You can see that most of the glass shelves are still intact.

Yes the xm fairly survived. The ss statues are broken into pieces. That says something there. This will haunt me daily as long as I collect thinking I will never know if my shelves will be the same in time wood, or glass it's the weight involved.
