Just a quick update on the first day for now, as I'm about to head out again.
The first full day of the show was extremely busy, with lots of people. Upon entry, Shanan and I headed straight for the Kings Comics booth, where we waited for Jim Cheung to show up, being third and fourth in line.
Tony Moore showed up first, but unfortunately he was not sketching at all. When Jim showed up, I set up an Etrigan head sketch commission with him and got him to sign a poster for Rodney. Shanan then set up a Havok head sketch on Rodney's behalf.
Afterwards, we set up sketches with David Yardin, Peter Nguyen, Emily Smith (a local artist) and eventually David Mack.
Shanan then went off and collected the autographs she was after (Suzi Plakson, Noah Hathaway and Verne Troyer for her brother, who is currently fixing her car).
Two pieces have been finished so far. The first was a piece for Shanan by Peter Nguyen, who finished the sketch earlier than expected after Shanan mentioned that she was planning to get it signed by Yvonne Craig. Here is Barbara Gordon:
Yvonne was thrilled with the artwork, and was more than happy to sign it, which you can see in the picture.
The other piece finished today was an Oracle sketch by Emily Smith:
Jim managed to get through the first two sketches today, and was just starting on my sketch when it was time to leave. I have pictures of both sketches, but will only post the first, since the second (which was Ms Marvel) belongs to a member of the forum who may wish to post it himself.
Thor by Jim Cheung:
More to come tomorrow!
Edit:
After speaking with Scott (the owner of the Ms Marvel piece) today, he agreed to let me post it here to show everyone. So here is Ms Marvel by Jim Cheung:
