I don't understand what you mean by " What If "? I've always found Superman to be an integral part of the Marvel Universe.

One of two things would happen:
He'd become another cape that was a whipping boy, because NO ONE moves planets around in the Marvel Universe.
OR
He's become a cosmic hero, which might be more entertaining than him working at the effin' Bugle.
Either way, the Hulk would stomp that @ss.

The Superman character originally created did not fly or use many of the powers that many of us are USED to being associated when we think Superman. Lex & Lois were not created initially either. So what you have if Marvel does somehow gets rights to Superman, is the original suit & an alien guy that basically jumped around. Almost all of the Superman history is DC owned but the name & original Superman image would be Marvels. The big risk for Marvel is that they too have creators who own a percentage of the characters they created, like Captain America for instance. If Marvel plays hardball & "buys" Superman then what would stop DC or another company from doing the same to one of their characters?
