I just checked my Donna Troy statue
The base of the statue says 407 of 500. The "500" numberon the base of statue is printed on the statue base where as the "407" number of the statue is written.
the shipping box says 407 of 472. The "472" number on the box is printed on the box along with the rest of the text on the box. The "407" number on the box is written on the box.

In the case of yours that means they announced a 500 edition size but it was adjusted by PO numbers. So it was reduced to 472.

I can understand adjusting the amount of statues produced But I do kind of wonder why the base wasn’t updated and have the correct number where the box does have the correct number. I would have to assume that the shipping box was produced last and that possibly the base might’ve been one of the first things produced and stamped automatically.

That is what a few of us think is happening. They number the bases after producing and just go off the announced ES. I'm sure in the case of Donna Troy with a 500 announcement they are numbering them and then they are only able to number the bases to 472. Once they are boxed up the ES number is corrected.
