Motor City ComicCon 2013

Stan Lee
George Perez
Barry Kitson
Ryan Stegman
Carlos Pacheco
Simon Bisley
Tony Moore
Chris Sprouse
Jim Calafiore
Tom Raneyy
Mike McKone
Tyler Kirkham
Yannick Paquette
Scott Kolins

Just to name a few. This is my first major con,I am hoping the line for George Perez is not out the door,I at least want a quickie sketch. I bought tickets for all three days just in case.
Already contacted Scott Kolins for a con commission.

Anyone else going?

Much better line up compared to last year. Detroit has another small con in the fall called Detroit Fanfare. We're lucky to have more than a handful of notable names there. With the fiscal crisis the city is in,I would imagine that could be in in jeopardy this year.

I can't ever recall having George Perez attend anything in the D. I'm really excited about this one.

I'll be there for a bit. Only to hang out with my friends Barry and McKone. I am hoping to catch up with my friend Scott Kolins too.

I saw that a few days ago. I would really like to pick up a sketch from Miguel Sepulveda. I love his work on Stormwatch and Red Lanterns. Prices seem reasonable.

Got my advance tickets for the show months ago. Was forced to stand outside in line for over an hour and a half in a line that wrapped around the building twice because the con organizers decided it would be a great idea to make advance ticket holders stand in the same line with people who hadn't even bought their tickets yet. (And for some people, they had to wait even longer than that to get into the building.) Some folks were so angry with the way the con screwed everyone over that they either gave their tickets away for free or tore them up in protest. Add to this zero parking space (to the point where even the celebrity guests were getting angry), a complete lack of anything resembling crowd control, and an overall lack of respect for their patrons, and you have an utter failure of a convention.

I've been a regular at MCCC since 2003. As of this, I'm done with them. I'm never going back.
