Announcing the 2014 Jerseyfest Model Kit & Statue Fair !

Hi guys:

The 2014 Jerseyfest Model Kit & Statue Fair will be held from August 1st to the 3rd in 2014 at the Marriott Hanover Hotel in Whippany, New Jersey.

We sold out of vendor tables at our last show with over 115, and are expecting a significant increase in vendors and attendees at the 2014 show. The success and growth spurt from our last show has allowed us to upgrade to a four star rated Marriott hotel in a great location, not far from Newark Airport. See hotel pictures by clicking here: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=3125

Once again we are putting on a big show that will appeal to a diverse audience of modelers and collectors who are into figures/statues, vehicles, mecha, props, etc. and various scales from miniatures to life-sized. Our model contest will once again be spectacular with phenomenal trophies and prizes. In the coming months, we will be announcing our special guest artists and information about presentations occurring during the vendor show on Saturday and Sunday. We also have some new activities and surprises for this year that we are not ready to announce yet - so stay tuned!

The show will once again kick off with “Jerseyfest Academy” all day classes on the Friday before the vendor show (i.e., August 1st). They will be mostly “hands on” classes featuring instruction by elite artists on painting, sculpting and constructing figure and vehicle model kits. See the latest info on the Academy here: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=3128

We have a talented team working together to make the 2014 show extra special. Many people from all over the USA and international locations will be attending. The kits/statues and presentations combined with the overall social experience all day and night will make for a great weekend of complete hobby bliss. Much more info to come folks !

Here is a "show report" summary of our last show with pictures: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=2949

Hope to see you at the big show !

We are extremely fortunate to have Jordu Schell as one of our special guests at Jerseyfest 2014 in August. He will be doing painting and sculpting demonstrations as well as discussing creature design on Saturday and Sunday during the vendor show.

Jordu Schell has been in the film and television industry since 1987. His talent as a designer, sculptor and painter is world renowned, and his credits include: “Avatar”, “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”, “300”, “Hellboy”, “Aliens vs. Predator – Requiem”, “Men in Black”, “The Mist”, “Batman Returns”, “Edward Scissorhands”, “Alien: Resurrection”, “The X-Files Movie”, “Predator II”, “Galaxy Quest”, “Evolution”, “Babylon 5-The Series” (on which he designed an emmy award-winning creature make-up and the first fully digital creature for a television series), and many more. He is also one of the very popular artists on the TV show "Making Monsters" (http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-show...stortions-crew).

Schell Sculpture Studio (http://schellstudio.com/gallery/) is a full service sculpture and design facility with a wealth of talent to match the need of any project. Their studio specializes in creature and character design, props, prototypes for toys and model kits, general special effects work, and creature design classes. Jordu has also did a series of sculpting and painting videos, including a few for the Stan Winston School of Arts.

Thanks,
Dave & Rob

Hey guys:

Boyd Crompton from “TrekWorks” (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Trekw...80204178720275) will be one of our special guests this year doing presentations on building and painting Sci-Fi spaceships and vehicles on Saturday and Sunday during the vendor show. Boyd is a professional and elite model builder who specializes in Star Trek and other science fiction vehicle models. Collectors from all over the USA commission Boyd to create incredible and accurate recreations of classic spaceships from television and film. He has also done many instructional videos and tutorials explaining several advanced techniques.

Hey guys:

Jerseyfest offers a full weekend long experience for all attendees, which means our program has numerous post show, night time activities and parties. To kick it off, the Stan Winston School of Arts will be doing a monster model painting class via a "webinar" on the Friday night before the Jerseyfest 2014 vendor show on August 1st, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The artist and subject to be used for the class to be announced.

Many advanced techniques and secrets that have been used by their artists for motion pictures will be covered. The class will be broadcast live on a big screen in a training conference room at the Marriott Hanover Hotel, which is the hotel where the vendor show is occurring. It will be interactive so the students and Stan Winston instructor can communicate via audio and video throughout the 3 hour long class.

Students will be able to sit back and watch the artist do various demonstrations while asking questions. Note that this is not a "hands on" class. Admission price is $15.00 per person and seats are limited, so we encourage people to sign up as soon as possible to secure a spot.

Ever wonder how actors are converted into Zombies and what techniques and products are used by movie and TV Special FX artists to make them so wickedly realistic? If you’re a fan of “The Walking Dead” TV show or Zombies in general, you’re in store for a real treat at Jersyefest this year. Sue Lee, who has created Walking Dead Zombies for the AMC Channel and was also a semi-finalist on the SyFy Channel’s “Faceoff” show, will be one of our special guests along with other FX artists who will be demonstrating the process used to creating zombies throughout the vendor show on Saturday, August 2nd. Sue is a renowned Special FX artist, sculptor and painter in the entertainment industry. See more info here: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=57

Hey guys:

Black Heart Enterprises is debuting a new, licensed, resin bust of Bela Lugosi as Dracula at Jerseyfest 2014 in August, where it will be available for sale for the first time. The kit will then be available for sale via mail order some time after the show. It was sculpted by Jeff Yagher and as you can see is beautiful.

Also, the "wall hanger" Bela Dracula bust will be the kit used for the "Figure Artist Airbrush Asylum" all day painting class at Jerseyfest Academy on Friday August 1st (i.e., the day before the weekend long vendor show). We will be announcing more info on this class and opening up registrations shortly. More info on classes here: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=3128

We’re very happy to once again be hosting Black Heart and Badger Airbrush Company as both vendors at our show and producers of this great class.

Congrats to Jeff Yagher and Black Heart for producing this beautiful piece !

Hey guys:

We just published the Jerseyfest 2014 Contest & Exhibit details with lots of pictures of the awards, trophies, and prizes.

It will go from Saturday to Sunday this year with the awards ceremony on Sunday at around 3:00pm. However, you will be able to check out your pieces on Saturday if needed, and still qualify for certain awards.

See all the contest and exhibit info here: http://jerseyfestfair.com/?page_id=68

We hope to see as many great entries this year as we did last year ! Remember that you can bring in your pieces for display only if you would rather not compete in the contest.

Thanks,
Dave
