May I ask how thick is the glass top/case and how is it secured to the pedestal? As well as the translucent panel on which the piece sits on? It has to be pretty tough to hold a CM piece, am I right?

Reason me asking is I've been wanting to do a similar one for my one and only CM piece and he deserves a great display all on his own.

The glass case is 1/4" and base is 3/8". The glass base is not frosted. Underneath the glass base is a 1/4" white acrylic sheet. I felt the white acrylic sheet helped balance the lighting.

The glass base sits on the inside of the box. I have installed rails on the inside to hold the glass base. The glass case rest on the outer wood area (under the lips). You can also see there is a hidden door in the back for access
