This is what I would assume, too. Especially since a brown/yellow Wolverine PF was already released. And that was a companion piece for the Sabertooth PF.

A small percentage of me believes it could be the brown version. As someone already mentioned, the announcement banner almost suggests the brown version. Not sure tho about a brown version being released back to back ....
I do, however, agree that unexpected announcements like this makes this online Comic Con exciting again. Unreal!

Wish they'd revisit Scott, Jean, and Colossus instead of Wolvie. I NEED a classic Byrne version of those characters and I'm still waiting on Nightcrawler. SSC's X-MEN lineups are a joke. Astonishing COM line....abandoned, Lee PF line....incomplete, classic lineup....a smidgen of releases. Finish a damn lineup already so you can start (and hopefully finish) another era.

I'm actually hoping this a sign that SSC will be making more X-Men characters. Even if they don't reveal them at SDCC ...I hope they'll reveal them in the near future after SDCC.

Sideshow rarely finishes line ups. I think they juggle too many products and production schedules for too many different lines....then switch gears and/or introduce more lines.
