I opened a new/sealed statue from DC Collectibles today, and it was the first time in my experience that a statue reeked. The problem was the Styrofoam brick, though, not the statue itself.

Polystone is pretty toxic to produce. Not sure how harmful the outgassing fumes are. I personally have gotten sick feeling from them if I sit near a new statue for any amount of time after opening. Worst one I can remember was SS P1 Pred bio.

What's best way to get rid of the smell?

I've left it outside for few days the smell is still there


I was thinking of putting a box of baking soda inside it

I figured out that the desiccant packets are creating the foul odor.
