That's a beautiful build-up, msisaac. Makes me want to track one down. After a shaky start, Horizon produced some magnificent kits back in the day. My favorite is The Joker, which was produced in both vinyl and resin (which came with a killer base.) Here's a photo that I found on the net:

Yes, I used BIN on ebay. I didn't think that it would be up very long at that price and I've wanted one for awhile.

Pinning it is the way to go if you want it to be solid. After building a couple of resin kits without one, I finally picked up a Dremel (Lowe's $59) and it makes drilling the holes for the pins and doing spot sanding a heck of a lot easier. Don't skimp on the sanding. Get it nice and smooth before you put on a coat of automotive primer prior to sanding. Nothing worse than finding a rough spot you "missed" when you're doing the final painting. And don't forget to dullcoat it after painting to protect your paint job.
