Hey hear on Zurbaran words. I have owned many different cameras from Hassleblad to Nikon to Ricoh to Pentax to Canon. I teach photo sessions and present on digitial photography. In the digital market, IMO, Canon is the king, period. Nikon has made some big leaps to catch up finally, but Canon still has the edge. The Canon G10 is a high end point and shoot that is the best in it's class, espescially for the money. If you want better, you will have to go to the SLR, and Canon's amateur, low end one, is the Canon Rebel, which takes outstanding pics for this entry level.
