Well, you're going to face those kinds of potential issues with all statues made from hard materials.

Went to pick up my Turner Supergirl at my LCS on Friday night only to be told that there was a problem with it upon inspection and it was being sent back. It seems there was a rather noticeable paint blotch on the underside of the yellow cape trim. It looks like it came into contact with something before it dried and lifted the paint off in two places. They said they'll order me another one but it may take a couple of weeks. Bummer. Otherwise, it looked quite good. Hoping there are no more misfires next time.

I have the Batgirl statue that I bought last year at Baltimore Comic Con and didn't have room for it. So, I just had it boxed up in my closet for a year. I finally opened it and a leg broke at the strap, so did the cape at the strap which broke off a small chunk of hair. It was fine when they opened it for me at the con. Does this happen a lot to this statue, or just me?

Yeah, Batgirl can break easily due to how thin many of the parts are.

When mine's in storage, I use packing peanuts to cushion the head/neck area. I also use some bubble wrap to pad the space between the body and the cape.

So does this speak the quality, QA, life or bad luck?

IMHO... Quality. DC collectibles quality on everything varies greatly. Much worse that other companies. Not just talking about breakage but paint apps etc. They still can be the best deal in town in the 1/6th scale especially and there is alot of good stuff but quality can be an issue.
