3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it. Direction is impressive and the narrative is much more layered than I anticipated.

true detective season 2

well, I didnt hate it, but I didnt really enjoy it either. Them keeping this season as being called true detective is probably a big reason it wasnt so successful, I think people were expecting it to be like season 1 when it very much wasnt. There really wasnt even much detective work which is my biggest complaint with this season as compared to the first which was worthy of the name true detective. They should have had season 2 be its own show with its own name and I think it would have been better received, its not really about detective work at all, and being named true detective it will obviously get compared to season 1 which in this case is not helping it at all

6/10

Finally getting around to this series! This was a very strong first season. I hope they keep the momentum going for the remainder.

S3 - 6/10. The exhausting "Castor" plot dragged this season to a crawl. Add a nail-biting school trustee election () and a potential shark-jumping trip to the U.K., and I was quite happy to wrap this one up. I'll keep watching but will tread carefully.
S4 - 7/10. Getting better, but it still feels like the writers don't know where they're going with it.

S5 - 8/10. The show finally found its focus and developed a plan. The finale was good enough, though there were lots of unresolved elements - especially Kira's abilities, which were really played up in earlier episodes but almost completely ignored later on.

Overall, the show gets a 7/10. Started great, lost steam midway, and rallied for a decent finish. Plenty of holes, as well as characters that seemed headed for bigger things but then faded away... but I'll miss the sestras. Tatiana Maslany convincingly played each clone as an individual, to the point that I forgot I was watching one actress in multiple roles. She's amazing and deserves so much credit for this show's success.

Iron Fist - 4/10

With the release of the Defenders looming, I figured I'd finish watching Iron Fist. I had stopped at episode 10 because it was so boring. After finishing the last three episodes, I wish I had not wasted my time on it. Really disappointing because the Iron Fist series was the one I looked forward to the most out of these Netflix shows.

Hopefully the Defenders is better.

Are you planning on watching S2 & S3? They're even better. Amazing series.
