I'm surprised there never was a Criterion Collection edition of "Showgirls" released.

A real pity.

I'm not sure I've ever seen that movie in its entirety... I do remember sweet Gina and the ice cube scene, though.

apparently not. Actually I have never seen nor had the desire to see this film. It's like the 2 Girls 1 Cup of the film world though so one of these days morbid curiosity will probably get the better of me.

Flash Gordon - 6.5/10

Classic camp. I almost want to give it a 7 but its so bad in areas that I just can't. Regardless I loved this film as a kid and I love it now. Guilty pleasure for sure. Looks fantastic on Blu-ray.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The Crow 10/10
best American comic book adaptation. caught a rare theatrical screening and Proyas's ultrastylish visuals look incredible on the big screen. Awesome soundtrack.
now bring on the uncut version that has been mentioned in interviews occasionally, with all the violence that had to be snipped for an R rating.

The Crow: City Of Angels (Reconstructed Version) 8/10
fanmade DVD using intertitles and pieces of workprint amongst the regular footage from the theatrical cut in an attempt to create something closer to what Tim Pope had in mind...before useless miramax went to town on it. Not exactly a masterpiece to begin with but no director deserves to be shut out of their own movie. If they had any sense, Pope would be approached to prepare his preferred cut for a BD release. But they're hopeless and it won't happen. As it stands this is an interesting look at what might have been.

Amer 10/10
Old-school Euro horror flavoured mood piece of female sexual psychology. In terms of stylistic approach/thematic content this is a very happy marriage indeed, but do be patient. Highly recommended to anyone sick of hot dogs.
