Because it was a great film. The personal sacrifice of a small group of men to get one guy. Acting was fantastic, setting and cinematography was powerful. Truly a classic war movie in every sense.
Of course Thin Red Line was good too. As was We Were Soldiers.

Immortals is getting approving nods down South; no SB trip this time around for me.
I'm not sure what to think of Rourke; I want to like him, but it seems like the only person Mickey Rourke knows how to play is.. Mickey Rourke. Supposedly he steps up in the aforementioned film, though.

I'll probably see Immortals in the cinema. Love this directors visual style.

Yep me too. Tarsem Singh's visual style is right up there with Terrance Malick IMO. His only shortcoming has been the strength of his narrative but after "The Fall" (a beautiful film on every level) I have faith he can now deliver on that front too.

My favorite Singh endeavour so far has been his critically acclaimed "The Stumble".
I'll have to check that out at some point, Scott.

The Thin Red Line 8/10. Amazing war movie with one of the greatest cast in the history of cinema. Also the most beautifully shot war movie made.
