Coronacrisis, Europe

So after Italy and Spain going in total lock down because of the coronavirus, tonight my government (of the Netherlands) made a statement that as of today all schools, restaurants, cafés, gyms etc are closed for 3 weeks. People are advised to work from home if possible. Not a total lock down, but close enough.
Our country of 17 million people have 1100 known infected patients and 20 deaths as of today.
Feels pretty unreal.

On a lighter note, my daughter is happy that she doesn't have to go to school tomorrow

Is SPAM a virus?

I've been around 50+ years and this is the first pandemic to have this widespread impact on essentially the majority of the planet. Hope this isn't a sign of the new normal moving forward.

That's something I've been thinking about as well.
Hopefully this won't happen again, but I fear it will.

I have a sore throat today
Do i have the virus, who knows?

I know the UK today had it's largest single day spike with a total 642 new cases (new known about cases. There are most likely more).

Based on data gathered on what's happened elsewhere, tomorrow could see the spike jump further, possibly double.

So far the UK PM has ruled out total-lock down. The next 12 weeks could get interesting. The UK could end up topping China and Italy.

Maybe this thread could be renamed: Coronacrisis, Europe, US, World

If the virus is as persistent as the flu, the question is not whether you get corona, but when.
I think over time we will all carry the corona virus.

The first curfew was imposed in a German city. I think there will be more to come in the next few days.

COVID-19 is hitting the US now.
Yesterday reports suggested 10000 confirmed cases (reality being many more).
4000 of those are in New York City

Meanwhile.. California Orders Lockdown for State’s 40 Million Residents (will this affect Sideshow Show?)

Yesterday the UK had a 642 jump in cases.
Yesterday the US had a jump of 40% in cases.

Given the way the people of India live, i suspect they will take a hammering.

California has issued a "stay at home" order to residents as it tries to stem
the march of the coronavirus across the most populous US state.

Governor Gavin Newsom told Californians they should only leave their homes
when necessary during the pandemic.

He earlier estimated more than half of the 40 million people in his state would
contract Covid-19 in just the next two months.

The virus has claimed 205 lives in the US and infected more than 14,000.

Globally nearly 250,000 patients have tested positive for the respiratory illness and
more than 10,000 have died.

I'm not only fearful of the human toll this is taking. This is gonna screw the economy. I work in the entertainment industry and now I'm wondering if I'm still gonna have a job. They are talking months of this.
