So I got the guts to start my repaint... Started small with the teeth! Lol! I'm also redoing the skull on the left shoulder in the same color so I thought I would post the teeth now while I'm waiting for some paint to dry!

And the skull... Figured I'd get all the bone pieces done while the paints out from the teeth. Last thing to do in that area is the claws from the cloak... I'm not posting pics of them until I get the whole gator claw repainted.

Anyway... Here is the shoulder skull:

And the original:

Started the skin repaint but got lots to do... Very slow process. I will try to get more done tomorrow. He's very pale, but that's intended. Im thinking I might put a dark wash over it when I finish. Maybe brown. Something to soften the dry brushing and blend the colors a little more as well as darken the shading.

I don't want to lose too much of the paleness though as the statue is supposed to represent a warrior from Thaldoom who fights at night. Though in the comic, they seem to have the same skin tone as Arhian, who also looked pale due to the night/moonlight, and she isn't this pale... I realized this before I started the repaint, but thought a pale berserker would just look cool!

Excuse the dirty room behind the statue!

There is a lot on this statue that's a little funky. The more I repaint mine the more I wonder how Arahom let the ARH stamp go on it. From the painting to the way it fits together, it's just not up to ARH standards.

But it is what it is and for $240 I'm glad I got mine. I would have never repainted a $600 ARH statue and I'm not sure I could have done a better job than the people in China. But I think my Viking is coming along better than the original. Plus, I didn't want a Viking, I wanted a Thaldoom bad guy!
I wish I could find some broken ARH statues to add some buts into this like skulls and what not.
