PS All of my stuff is still in boxes and it pisses me off. Everyone asks what I going to do with all of it and I keep saying Im going to have a room for it in my NEW house. Well if I keep getting these Im not going to be able to display them. So for right now its a lose-lose situation. Now that Im saving for a house its going to be a win-win.

I buy off and on, I am into MANY different things statues is but one, when I do see a market value jump for something I may let it go, but then realize I made a mistake and sometimes pay alot more to get it back, sometimes. But after selling statues, especially if I have lots to sell, I then find out what I truly want to keep around and what I waste my money on. I may get it back I may not sometimes I buy/sell things 2 or 3 times before I really decide (like the He man statues, I have owned 3 skeletors and sold 3, now I want it back).

I am also saving for a house to own/new car/cosmetic surgery for the wife/ and other things and it is very hard with all the awesome things out there, and sometimes you just have to let things go, you can't own everything...as much as everyone would like to.
I am stuck in collecting my childhood year toys packaged, and THIS STUFF IS NOT CHEAP, but I know most of the stuff will be around again if I miss it the first time, so no biggy, even though there are some great deals...man I wish I was rich

My attitude towards collecting can be summed up thus: If you're collecting for pleasure then it's worth it, if you're collecting for profit then ultimately it's not.

That's my view anyway.

I agree with Sledge. Leave the selling of statues to the comic stores. I believe that statues were made for enjoyment and thats what you should buy them for. I no i wouldnt sell mine unless i was eating food from the gutter but even then i would see how the gutter tasted first.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Resurrecting an old thread from when I was new to collecting and I had a hard time justifying a $200 statue. How many of us have endured this now truly expensive hobby and still have similar issues today.

This hobby should only be saved for the most disposable of incomes. If you have to think for a second if you can afford anything on this forum then the answer MUST be no.

Yep, I love my statues, but the mortgage, bills, retirement, and various necessities come first, then the fun with travel, concerts, sport, and nerd stuff.

Agreed. Necessities, travel, art, guns then comic statues and books.
