Well, there were a bunch of things that added up on the bust that stopped me:
The bones on the breast plate don't line up to make an "X" behind the jewel. It's like the artist created the breast plate, then decided to add the jewel by cutting the original design. However, he didn't bother fixing the alignment. Look at the top left bone behind the jewel and follow it down to the bottom right - it's supposed to look like a single depiction of a bone, but it's off alignment. Same goes for the other bone from top right to bottom left. Tweeterhead had a lot of notice to fix this while it was pending approval and ignored it. I was hoping they'd fix it here, but they just ran with it.
The skull the artist referenced for the bust was a child's skull as the head (and the default one for this statue) have features that are only seen at childhood. It also had that super rough texture that looked like bone cancer. I get what the artist was aiming for, but for me, it was just too much. I could get around that with this piece since it has the new head which is more accurate.
I really do like the paint job and pose, and I still may get it if it goes on sale since I would use the new head. Also, since it is smaller, that breast plate issue will be less noticeable. So close to greatness and yet so far . . .
