I mean, this thing is the tits.

That’s pretty much one of the few exceptions to the rule. Most of Sideshow pieces are wholly ‘original’. That was always marketed as a Frank Miller Dark Knight Batman piece. I don’t recall if outside of movie pieces, if any other Batman piece made solely by Sideshow has ever been directly associated with any other comic artist?

Day 1 PO. Easily.
Nevertheless, i have something to say about this and about Master Martin Canale.
Some of his latest sculpts are somewhat lacking. I can't be 100% sure what is the reason but i can guess that it is related with Martin going full Z-brush.
Martin is the most talented hand-sculptor of our era (alongside Peterson, Wang and Jerry) and him using 100% Z-brush is probably hurting his sculpts.
Ofc his Joker on the latest Joker vs Batman diorama was MILESSSSSS BETTER than the Batman being sculpted by D.B (why is that Batman so skinny looking like he needs to eat some sandwiches?), but Martin is probably hurting from our era of full digital.
Having said that, this Batman is different and unique. So it was clearly a day 1
It has also height (Sideshow finally listened to me, their last Batman Gaslight was a nice sculpt but being hunched over, it wasn't imposing)

I have also wondered (Not about Martin) about Zbrush making certain sculpts too clean, and lacking in life, especially from guys that were masters of hand sculpting. It has actually been in the back of my mind for awhile now, so interesting to hear someone voice that.
I might just order this out of spite, and as an I told you so when it becomes sought after down the road.

Z-brush is excellent for Will (Harbottle) who never misses. For some reason, it does not fit Martin so well. Maybe i'm wrong but a combination of these 2 methods could probably work better for Martin.
Maybe i am biased cause i think that Will is nowaday so far apart as a sculptor from anyone else that it is not right to make comparisons.
Will sculpts a male comic character, a female comic character, a random female character from his imagination or even an actor's likeness like a God.
I have yet to see a Will's sculpt where he missed. The man is on a roll, we've never seen before!
Martin on the other hand, gave us the BEST JOKER sculpt of all time. The OG Joker PFF or his latest Joker (Joker vs Batman diorama). But something tells me that he is more of a hand sculptor than a digital one. Maybe i am wrong, i don't know.
As for this Batman, get it. The ES is going to be small and this is better than Tubers are telling it is to average Joes. I like it a lot, it is different and unique

I've always thought Newman's traditional pieces are better than this digital pieces.

Bingo! He is another case where he seems to struggle with digital facial sculpts whereas his traditional pieces were all excellent.
Will, on the other hand, has no problem with digital. He GOATs.
Maybe we are wrong but it is weird.

Here’s a $3,110 alternative to Sideshow’s new Batman.
