Another photo of Nicolas Cage as Superman has surfaced online.
The double photo shows Nicolas Cage during a costume fitting for the never-made "Superman Lives" movie.

Late last week we reported on the KickStarter fundraising campaign by filmmaker Jon Schnepp to make a full-length documentary about the proposed 1998 "Superman Lives" movie.

The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened? is a Feature Length Documentary about the unmade movie "Superman Lives". This film, out of all the various attempts to make a Superman movie between 1987 and 2006, would have stood the test of time and become a bonafide Cult Classic nowadays. I am not alone with my intense interest in knowing everything I can about this project, and so now I'm embarking on making a Documentary that will cover everything ever made for this film, from interviewing as many people as I can who were involved, to including actually recreating scenes from the script!!!

No offense meant, but "bonafide cult classic" is a bit of a stretch... since Nic Cage's performance would've been so bad it couldn't have even been considered as being "camp".

He's not horrible in every film he's in... but he does have limited range as an actor; Superman requires an actor with emotional depth, which Cage lacks as-of-late.

I guess there's no harm in a documentary being produced, though, if the interest is there.

couldn't agree with you guys more. Cage would have been horrible. not to mention he looks like an old man in a rubber suit for crying out loud.
i know i have stated that i have been skeptical and haven't really liked like what i was seeing in the new Supeman film. (right down to the suit and the actor playing him)
but comparing it to this or what this would have been makes it look like the best Superman ever made..
this would have been the biggest flop in film history.
thank the maker they pulled the plug on this. smart move.

The part that makes me laugh/angry is that Cage campaigned hard for this role as a "comic fan" as a comic fan he should have know that he was completely wrong from the role then or at any point in his career.
