I was at the cinema today, and they showed a bunch of trailers, one of those trailers was for Alien Romulus
Unlike most trailers, the trailer for Alien Romulus showed a fair amount of behind the scenes stuff, along with the lead actress talking.
I do not recall seeing this level of info at a cinema during a trailer in past?

One thing i am sure of, the lead actress is not a patch on Sigourney Weaver, i could sense it straight away.
The lead actress came across like she was reading for a script while talking about the movie.

They can try as much as they want to recreate the magic of the first two movies but as long as Romulus isn't like Prometheus or Covenant we should be ok

Is this movie any good? It looks like a teen slasher movie in space. The alien just gets to feed on Gen Z this time.

Ripley is an impossible standard to live up to, but Noomie Rapace (Shaw) and Cailee Spaeny (Rain) did well with their characters.

The movie looks great and has practical effects, but the writing was meh. None of the characters were memorable except for the robot. Probably because of that cringe line. You know the one. I didn't feel like the movie added anything new to the franchise. I want more space jockey lore.
The movie for some reason is fairly highly rated. I guess dirty water looks great to a man dying of thirst in the desert.

I do too, I really liked Prometheus and the concept behind the engineers...then I was disappointed in Covenant, however, I just rewatched it and it was definitely better the second time around. I'd like to see Ridley finish out his prequel films, but unfortunately after Covenant did poorly, it's probably a longshot.

Romulus was one of my top three most anticipated movies this year. I love Fede's remake of Evil Dead, and absolutely loved Don't Breathe, so I figured Romulus would be super intense and scary. While it was a good movie, and definitely in the top 5 Alien movies, it was lacking that intensity and scariness I assumed it would have. It felt a little safe.

This movie was just OK for me. I did not find it scary at all.

I found it more suspenseful than scary. Trying to recall the last time I thought a movie was scary...maybe The Conjuring 2.
