No, I beleive he developed the look from sketches he made during his run on Batman.

Come to think of it there might have been a variation cover made

Dick Giordano did a sketch for the original concept art of the BATMAN statue. (The sketch is printed on the box sleeve of the porcelain statue.) But Randy felt that the production costs would be extreme for that design, resulting in a retail cost of $200.00 or more. He then presented DC with a new design based on Kelly Jones style of BATMAN, which would only have a retail cost of $100.00.

It was reproduced five years later as a hot-cast bronze version.

This is why it went for so little. It may have been under water.

IT HAS BEEN OWNED BY ONLY ME. I HAD A FLOOD IN MY HOUSE AND THE BOX IS RUINED BUT THE STATUE IS IN MINT CONDITION. IT IS NUMBER 68 OF THE RUN.

So keep an eye out for number 68. Someone could try selling it as not being in a flood and make some $$$.
