Even a year and a half or so later GG's Blackhole Stormtrooper still ranks as perhaps the absolute worst fiasco of any of the big companies in this biz. Although they seem to be trying to constantly figure a way to sink even lower and tick off their customers even more (i.e. their holiday "gifts" and this year's show exclusives). Yep, I tried the online ordering that day, along with however many stampeding flippers, fans and knuckleheads. Finally got through after going back and forth between two computers with high speed connections. After 10-15 minutes of the order hanging, got it in my cart. ONLY TO HAVE MY CREDIT CARD (which has a $50K limit) bounced because it didn't match my address (which was actually some stupid glitch in their system).
Well I refused to pay more than $250 for this thing. Watched the prices top $400, $500, back to $350, up to $400 and whereever it is today.
Well, I stuck to my guns. And instead of paying the a flipper for what was essentially a GG repaint with a piece of cardboard and a sticker, I had my own repaint done, PLUS TWO MORE CUSTOMS --
RED STORMTROOPER and
BLUE STORMTROOPER -- all for less than $300!
So a huge thanks to Didier for the fantastic paintup! To me, the black looks as good, if not better than the gg BHS. I just thought the red and the blue colors would look cool, and they should display nicely with the upcoming crimson guard and royal guard.
Works for me.
