The problem is a lot of people ordered the sculpted cape without seeing both at the same time. They should have released both and given people the option.

Fabric cape pulls off the effect of floating and weightlessness better than a sculpted cape.
Sculpted cape makes the whole piece seem a little more finished as the way the cape is position is what was intended by the artist and not the interpretation of whoever set up a fabric piece.
Pros and cons.

I think both look really cool but IMO what the most forget and what is a big pro for me to get the fabric cape is the 360° rotating base. It's by example a big + for people who don't have endless space, so you can put him somewhere where it fits, with the sculpted one you "only" have two options, front or back.

It's a good feature for sure, but not that important for some. If some of you are cramping these in some IKEA large cube then more power to you but it's just not ideal at this scale.
Personally, I would not rotate it much even with the spinning feature unless it was a display side by side with Doomsday. We are talking about 50" wide worth of display space.

I POd both because I can't decide which version I want. I'm only keeping one, and hope that both versions will be present at SDCC this summer so we can actually see them in person and next to each other. This would be a standalone piece. Not collecting this line since I'm collecting the Arkham line.

I didn't know the base rotated on these?
Is it on both or just the cloth?
Is this feature shown somewhere?

It was shown/demo'ed in a video from one of the shows overseas... I will see if I can find it and link.

On sculpted you can "just" put Superman in Front or Back on the Base:
On the fabric Version you can 360° rotate it, there was a Vid (from a Con) where they showed it:

Gotta say I LOVE the debate on Capegate... Allot of great points and opinions made in this thread, pros and cons about both!
Too bad P1 can't just include both some how........
