Well if you own a Mac (any model or OS) send me a PM.
If you own a PC i cant help you other then try ebay and look for a old full versions that are cheap and un opened. When it comes to photoshop version 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, CS and CS2 pretty much has all the same stuff, just more stable and extra options with the later versions.

I have to say, if you're a beginner then don't count yourself lucky when you get such a program. It's far from easy and very difficult to understand all the tools IF you are a beginner.

Why don't you give GIMP a try. It's an open source program, which means it is free download and use, and it is legal. It has many if not all of the same features as standard Adobe Photoshop, and if you have never used a program like this before, it shouldn't be anymore difficult to learn. I believe you can find tutorials online if you search Yahoo or Google.

You definitely shouldn't just go to a bit torrent site and download Adobe Photoshop CS2. That would be, you know, illegal.

You should consider Paintshop Pro.

It's a fraction the price of Photoshop but allows you to do many of the same things. You can even use Photoshop plugins with it. In case you don't know, the plugins are extra routines you can add to do things like add lens flares or make the picture look like an oil painting. There are lots of these available free (genuinely free, not ripped off) on the web.
Good luck and have fun.

Well, i started out on PS Elements and found that to be a great way to start. A very powerful program for more then your basic needs, but CS2 (which i use now) is obviously a lot more full on features.
Why don't you download a trial of either one right here. Just scroll down until you find the software you're looking for.
Try before you buy
Good luck.
