Sculpting straight edges

Hey guys! This is my first post and I apologise if this question has been covered before but I couldn't find any threads. Maybe I wasn't searching the right words lol.

My question is how do you sculpt something like a cube etc. My friends wants a bust of the classic transformer soundwave from the cartoon and it's very blocky with very straight edges and flat sides but I can't seem to get it right. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Graham

Depending on what your using to sculpt with, perhaps just use a wood or plastic block as a base, and sculpt on that.

If i have ever tried to make something like that in sculpey i have found the best way for me is to create a fairly straight cube, cook it a little to harden then sand the sides until they are smooth and straight. The beauty of sculpey is being able to re cook it when u want to add more fresh clay.
Thats how i do it any way
