Wizard World Raleigh?

http://www.wizardworld.com/home-raleigh.html

Wow, I didn't even know this was coming to my own city in March until today. It's kinda sad how far the Wizard cons have fallen. Why do they even call them Comic conventions, there are hardly any comic artists at all, mostly just tv and movie actors and even a few singers thrown in there for good measure. and $75 for a three day pass for this? really?????

Man, that's just sad. It seems like the same couple high name artists (Golden, Suydam, and Liefeld) go to each con plus a lot of independent artists. Is this the same for every wizard convention?

My speculation is they sign a handful of artists to a year long contract that requires them to go to every show That's why you see the same names over and over across the country

Also, Wizard bought the Pittsburgh show. I'm glad I went in September for the last independent Pittsburgh show.

Will you be getting your picture with Corey Feldman at the next one?

Ha! I really don't know how they continue to make money. A friend of mine runs a 3 day con here in the northeast and he gets good comic guests and maybe 10% celebs/sc fi dudes. It works well for him and apparently doing the exact opposite seems to work for Wizard.
