Agreed. This is why, with the exception of Force Awakens on opening day, I normally WAIT to see a film a week or two AFTER its initial release.

I'll catch a matinee when there's hardly a soul in the theater...and plenty of seats empty around me to completely immerse myself in the story, and without any distractions like the ones mentioned earlier.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I saw the Revenant a couple of weeks ago and there was a 20 ish girl constantly checking her phone. I asked her to stop as the light was distracting me. She didn't stop as such, but kept checking it in her handbag, which blocked the light. Not sure why she even went to see that film, I think it was mainly for Leo, but he was all dirty and scarred so maybe that put her off.

I went to the cinema last night to see the movie Anomalisa and I was the only person in the theater--my own private screening. Sometimes I'll get lucky like that.

Tim League responds to proposed Texting in the Theater | News | Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

I'm grateful for the existence of Tim League as he continues to keep the high standard for the best cinema experience.

I am going to make sure I visit the Alamo Drafthouse during my next trip to US, hopefully the LA branch will also be open then.

Agreed. Kudos to Mr. League for taking a stand.

AMC's new president is a knuckle-head.
