Dispatch From The Alamo Drafthouse: She Texted, We Kicked Her Out

http://www.badassdigest.com/2011/06/...kicked-her-out
Message from Tim League, founder/CEO of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L3eeC2lJZs

Wish more cinemas would apply this rule and actually care about the cinema experience.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema incident reminded me of these posters for Psycho (1960).

Alfred Hitchcock is one of my all time favourite directors, who not only made great movies but also managed to market them brilliantly, sometimes by featuring himself in the promos and trailers; yet never came off as some pompous showman.

“It is required that you see Psycho from the very beginning!”. “The manager of this theatre has been instructed at the risk of his life, not to admit to the theatre any person after the picture starts. Any spurious attempts to enter by side doors, fire escapes or ventilation shafts will be met by force. The sole objective of this extraordinary policy, of course, is to help you enjoy Psycho more.”

I love it. All theatres should have this policy.

I got into a huge fight with a woman back in 1992 during the film Unlawful Entry. She came into the theatre 30 mins into the film, she was jingling her 100+ key chains all over the place. Once she sat down behind me she began to talk loudly to her 2 friends about her love life. Then she started adding her own commentary to the film. People kept shooshing her which she ignored, finally I got so pissed I turned around and told her to shut the F up. This started a huge yelling match in the middle of the movie that went on for like 5 mins. The kicker is she went to the manager and complained about me and me and my girlfriend were asked to move our seats, not her.

She actually said to me "I paid for my ticket I can talk if I want to".

OMG - I don't know what I would have done Pat. I would have wanted to kill her. I probably wold have forfeited my movie, somehow gotten behind her & dumped an x-large cola down her back and then just left. That sounds horrible. What a bi^$@!

On to the original post - That was awesome! thanks for posting!

Yeah it was really bad.

She was so blatantly loud and obnoxious you would have thought it was an episode of Punk'd.

The kicker was all these people that were shooshing her, none of them backed me up.
