LINKING TO PERSONAL WEBSITES, YOUTUBE, BLOGS...:

Please do not do this. We will delete the links without notice or warning and may ban you as well. This forum is not for you to send traffic to your site and/or monetize your site or your friend's.

If you want to write a column, create a video or share something for the forum members on a regular basis, we will more than gladly support you on this forum. But, we will not have members bumping threads so they may be able to obtain subscribers, buyers, clients or hits. So, again, if you really are doing it for the members, do it here.

No links to YouTube reviews? What a shame.

How is this done? Would the video link need to be approved in advance?

Probably just the first time with newer members that might not know the rules (illegal sculpts, unlicensed material...).

The videos, they would have to be sent to us so we may load it to the forum's YouTube account (or post giving us permission to download it).

The forum's YouTube account was made so we may have a library of videos that members may easily access without having to be searching. So, if you like to review but stop doing it a year from now, those videos may always be accessed by new members here and see your reviews.

Some sculptors want to start getting involved with this as well so members may also have a common spot to view sculpting videos.

So, if you want to just make one review a year or 100 a year, you can share it here on the forum's YouTube channel. Of course, if you're sharing your work with the forum on it's YouTube channel, we have zero problem if you also mention your own YouTube channel.

If we get enough videos every month, we can start doing monthly contests. Something like, the video that gets the most likes, the creator gets a gift card. Heck, it would be cool if we also start getting reviews on art and comics as well just to diversify.

Kind of a step backwards.

No more live coverage of events. STGCC, Winterfest, SDCC, TCC. Pics are nice, but it’s the YouTube videos of those events that people really want to see. This just moves all that traffic to the other forum and Facebook. A major step back for Statue Forum.

Good point with live videos. That, of course, wouldn't work unless you had direct access to the forum's YouTube to upload live.

That’s why I think this move is a mistake. Unless reviewers want to sign on as Statue Forum reviewers, you’re going to lose all that prime coverage, and that will just send collectors elsewhere to find it and discuss it.
