I'd personally say about 80% is not that good. That Hughes piece is outstanding. It'll definitely fetch more because it's a Hughes piece, but it deserves a nice chunk already.

Royd - any idea what the story is behind the Hughes piece being offered in NJ? Is it a print or a drawing or some combination? Its marked 2/2 and it states its a remarked photograph?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Bill,

Mate, this is what Allison posted to Hughes-Fans regarding the remarqued prints:

"Hey all;

if you check out the website, you'll now see that Adam has donated three pieces of art to the charity event Wonder Woman Day. In addition to his marker rendered Wonder Woman piece, there are two vintage
styled poster prints. Each one features the cosplaying wonder of Riki LeCotey (Riddle to all her cosplay pals) as the amazing "Amazonia" Wonder Woman.

The image was artfully rendered into a print by photographer and photo-manipulating genius A. D. LaRue (we couldn't have done it without you!)and lastly each received a hand drawn remarque by our own Adam. They are numbered 1/2 and 2/2 and are the only ones out there! One will be at the Portland location, and hte ohter in Flemington, New Jersey.

Enjoy: http://www.wonderwomanmuseum.com/WWDay3/WWDay3.html

~Allison"

Best,

Royd

Thanks for the info on the print Royd. I noticed there was another piece of art (by Jay Fife) available for auction based on the same image.

I'm looking forward to going to this next Sunday and coming home with some new art.

Just got back from the Portland event. I lost out on the Hughes piece again this year but I did come away with some other nice stuff. AH, Allison Sohn and Aaron Lopresti were doing sketches for a minimum $20 donation to the cause, but the more you donated, the better the piece. When I was there I did see AH do some really sweet pieces of Black Cat and Superman and some smalller ones of Wonder Woman and X-23.

Anyways, here's what I came home with.

nice pick ups - how crowded was the event and what did the Hughes piece go for this year? Any snipping foreign bidders?
