What are your best 'Flips' ?

...and I don't mean turning a profit.

For collectors that have done it for awhile it's almost natural to sell pieces to fund other pieces. I know there are many who keep everything but for those of you who have done this what do you consider the best decisions you've made while collecting?

For example,

I sold a DST Spider-man flag pole and a Bowen action Surfer to fund the Spider-man commiquette. (obviously this was awhile ago)

I also sold the Bowen classic Cap, Thor and Iron Man to fund the XM Thor.

I regret neither of these decisions and feel a sense of I win when I look at them.

What moves have you made that stick out in your mind during your time collecting?

I admit I was stoned when I wrote this but am I the only person who sells stuff to buy other stuff?

Maybe the thread title was a poor choice of words and no one wants to be thought of as a flipper

sold a few Bowens to fund a sideshow wolverine vs sabretooth diorama. Best decision I ever made. Love that piece.

everyone sells and buys pieces. But only a very few will tell you that they sold for a good profit cuz they saw it was time to let it go.
After all ur mortgage and petrol for your car cost monies not statues (;

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Bought sideshow hulk for £250, sold for £700 if I recall correctly, this was several years ago.

My whole collection started with flipping. My most memorable flips.......

Sold a mini AP Cap statue for $650 and I paid $75 for it.

Sold 3 AP chrome Surfer busts for a grand each. Paid $250 each.

Sold 6 AP shiflett bros full size Hulks for a crap load. One I got a grand, another 850, 750 and the rest were 650.

Now this was in the glory days when Bowen AP's were gold. This was before he posted in his forum that AP's weren't special. Once he said that people wouldn't pay anything extra for them. I still had a bunch of AP's so needless to say I was pissed when he did that.
