Slaying The Beast

So I just watched Slaying the Beast and I can't figure out if Arahom is crazy or if he's a genius. So let's look at some match. There are 5 people working for ARH including Arahom. The statues are about $500 each. So if he pays everyone $500 a week that means he needs to sell 5 statues a week just to make payroll. Now, his workshop and offices are pretty damn big. Does he rent? Own? What about utilities, phone and Internet? The material to make the statues? Boxes and foam? That's got to be another 5 statues.

So if you buy into that concept then they will need to sell 10 statues a week or around 40-50 a month. But wait... there is a min of two month payment plans... that means he's almost guaranteed to lose money for the first month even if he sells the whole lot of them.

Of course as the months move on and those installment payments add up and new statues are released maybe there will be a lot of cash rolling in.

Like I said, he's either crazy or a genius.

I think more people should watch these videos. I watched them for the last year and a half or so and it is really interesting to watch from idea to sculpting to production to logistics.

If only he could get one of those 5 people to answer e-mails and the phone on a regular basis.

I did enjoy the 2015 series of videos while they lasted though.

Apparently Melissa only answers phones half the day, the other half Arahom has her casting statue pieces!

Makes sense. I called during their "customer service" hours this week. Phone was ringing off the hook...

They shortened the hours on their site, I'm able to call during those hours (though sometimes it's busy, and I don't call too often but haven't had issue when I did).

It's clear Arahom has her priorities in order.

Who needs customer service, right?

Eve is in the printer. I didn't know it took a 3D printer like 3 days to print a statue. I really like this video series to see how things work.
