If the break was clean/smooth that was most likely the issue. You have to be steady when holding. The slightest movement can cause the repair to slip. My process is fit it first, one brush per side, fit it with the glue then hold. Sometimes I will use my can of air on the glue from a distance so not to splatter it. I find the air causes the glue to get sticky and bind better. Phil’s pretty much nailed it.

The excess glue was from a bit too much used. You’ll get the hang of it.

Just so I know in the future. What about any excess glue that does happen. I mean, you obviously can't stop holding the parts together and wipe it away if it's there. Is there a way to get rid of it after it hardens or would it be too destructive to the part.

Not really a problem on mine at the moment. Just curious if it does ever happen to me.

The only way I’ve been able to prevent leakage is to use small brush strokes and small amounts of glue. If it’s your first time it’s going to happen. With practice you’ll get better. I use liquid because I’ve found gel type glues make a mess.

My first damaged statue was the Matrix Studios Shockwave. Not the statue you want come damaged. It came with a few broken parts one in particular that took me 4 times to fix. The break was so difficult and in such a bad place no matter what I did it wouldn’t sit properly.

Remember less is more. Also you’re going to laugh but I bought I practice SS statue on discount and broke it myself to use as a fixing dummy a few years ago. It also helps I’m an art major so I’m good with matching paint and using clay fillers. Go to Walmart buy a toy or an outdoor garden statue and have at it.
