I use createx a lot but only the pearlized paints mostly.

Their clear paints suck, and you wont get a candy coat with them. Seems like their clear paints are to opaque and never give you that clear coat.

Their pearlized paints work wonders, but i use a layer of Tamiya chrome silver paint on the area first then the createx pearls. Only cause createx does not go on very well unless its got a decent surface to stick do.

Example: if you wanted to spray a item createx pearlized gold over a black primed item, it will take a few coats for it to get solid and paint will become to thick. So by using a tamiya chrome silver, the createx sticks to it well and goes on with one or two easy coats.

You are better off ordering Tamiya Clear colors thru a online store, with a tamiya paint thinner cause they are pretty thick out of the bottle and a drop or two of the thinner will work wonders. Tamiya for me has be the best clear coat paints i have worked with going over aclad chrome.

Edit: and Createx paints need to be heated to set, so i use a hair dryer on the paints once i get done airbrushing a section and let it set a bit before i blow dry it.

I used krylon spray can primer on my first sculpt and it took FOREVER to dry. I sprayed it direct onto sculpey. Now that it has been painted with acrylics it looks like moisture is coming out in certain spots. Its just sticky in certain parts. Any ideas on what may have happened or what I did wrong?

Did you clean the sculpt thoroughly before spraying?
If not whatever solvents you used to smooth the clay may still be leaching out from the surface.
It also helps if the can is at room temp before spraying.
Hope this helps.

What krylon did you use? They redid the mix on krylong paints while back cause the old can chemicals never dried and caused many issues. The new mixes are much better, so its possible you are using a old mixed can?

This is the new can and mix

this is the old one that is still on the market in some stores.

Can be found at local auto parts stores.

When doing my alclad chrome, before painting in gloss coats i use Duplicolor Primer Sealer so the paint doesnt soak into the primer and cause weird rough grains.

I use Mr Surfacer 1200. Lacquer-base, shoots through the airbrush, best primer I've ever used
