Same here. I've already reread it once and will do so again, and I'll be buying the next issue. The "Miller Janson" thing tells me that this is not a rip off but a tip of the hat. I really believe Kaare Andrews is not going to go down the same path as DKR as much as this issue seemed like a launching point to do so. Yeah, it's got its claws in me too.

I tried to see it as an homage as well Joe... it's always hard to not see this type of thing and think "rip off" and in truth it was really hard here, but I think after going back it's mostly a nod to a great work of literature and it's creators.

I think no matter how you take it, this story is doing what it is meant to... we ARE talking about it!

I just have to ask this question again. I was blown away at how good this self contained one issue Robin/Joker story was.

Other reactions?

I read this issue yesterday and meant to respond...

THat issue was off the chain... What a portrayal of JOker and the true creature of darkness that he is... truly insane.

I had a very minor crit to it... you would think Tim would have known enough to not jump in the car with strangers...

but if it weren't for Tim's mistake this issue wouldn't have happened...

The characterization was Flawless in my opinion of both he and the Joker...

Yeah, while I thought that was odd too I discounted the bad judgment based on the fact he had two different cars of thugs shooting at him and he was looking for "any port in a storm."
