Can anybody chime in on the lighting of a dioder on besta shelf considering it's only 10"? Thanks guys!!!
Ikea changed their Dioder lights a while back. They give off the same yellowish light as well now

Along with their recent discontinuing of the Tombo doors, Ikea have really managed to bugger up a lot of people's displays

As for lighting alternatives, see if you can find a lighting shop in your area that sell LED strip lighting. They can be cut to any length and come in a variety of colours and temperatures.

I have one of these and two small ones in my display. With the small ones I swapped out the middle solid shelf with a glass one from the Ikea mirror/shelf package you can get so that the light shines right through.

Below is a picture of the back of the double besta, if you go to my flicker page you will see more setup photos that might help answer some of your questions.

You can't move the shelves right ? Because you taped the wires back there.

Actually i can move them up one or down one, i left a littlebit of slack.

In fact i just moved them over the weekend so that the middle section can now display up to 27 inches and the top and bottom can display 22 1/2 inches.

Here is a new video i did today, its a review of red sonja but you can see that she fits fine and so does superman in the middle section.

I find the IKEA round LED lights (and the new swivel ones) to be bright enough without being too intrusive

Nice backdrops, did you make them or buy them from some where?

Wandered around my local Ikea yesterday and they had what looked like a Besta unit but it has half glass sides and glass front. 3 cube high. The Orrberg. The shelves are half the depth of the unit and removable. Not sure if the top and bottom can be supplied in glass.
