It's like Erron Black's caltrops, they do damage over time if you are on top of them. If you lock your opponent down by summoning Nightshade and using vine drills while they are on top of it the damage adds up quickly.

It does the most pathetically small amount of damage in the event the opponent actually stands in it.

You can end combos in the corner with a hard knock down, put bed of thorns down, and then use a meaty set up which will tack on an additional 10 to 15 percent to your combo. If you anticipate a reversal or jump you can punish with another combo with the added bed of thorns in place. The damage is quite significant.

It's also good for closing rounds. If your opponent is low on health they will be hesitant to rush in on Ivy if bed of thorns is down. This will of course make her vine drill keep away game more potent allowing for easier chip damage or to capitalize on free damage since your opponent won't be able to rush in.

Thinking of picking up Grodd, nasty reset potential if you delay after the cross up instead of continuing this combo.

Joker is pretty easy to pick up, he has a lot of his jailing strats from Injustice 1 still.

I wish I could get the ability that upgrades it to the healing version. That would be pretty cool to throw the healing version down while you're zoning your opponent with Nightshade, her projectile and the ground spike move.
