I may be the only one but I liked it. Let me give you some context though. I was too old when transformers came out. I never had or played with any of the toys. I have never watched any of the cartoons. I have never read any of the comics. That being said I'm not up on the source material like regular comic book movies. Because of that lack of knowledge I have greatly enjoyed the Transformers movies. All of them have been good. I get that parts of the story were week here but overall very cool and those Dinobots were really cool. I'm looking forward to more installments.

You're not alone.

Solid entry for me as well, albeit, a bit longwinded (could have easily been cut by 20mins). Don't really understand the hate otherwise. Only criticism was the teenage cast. Could have done without them completely.

7.5/10

Finally saw this show tonight at the 3.00 movie theatre. It seemed to have a little substance early on, but it turned into an almost three hour nightmare by the end. I've never felt anxiety in a movie before like I did in this one. It got bad enough that I was sorely tempted to walk out several times, but I was with some other people, so I suffered through to the end. There was at least three movies allotment of explosions in this film. I won't be going to another one of these...

It was a typical Michael Bay movie. Either you like them or you don't.... All his movies have been week on story and heavy on action. It's how he does them all.... That might of worked in the 90's when all the computer special effects were new and the audience was all impressed by it, but now computer special effects are the norm and I think most audiences want a good story.

I just don't think Michael Bay is capable of telling a story, I think his style of movie telling went out in the 90's early 2000's... Only reason he's still around is because some how he keeps locking in popular IP's, and it doesn't hurt to be good friends with Steven Spielberg either....

I would love to see someone like JJ Abrams or Josh Whedon take on the Transformers franchise... I think both of those directors knows how to balance action with story telling.

I have to agree with Meteor Man in that it started out pretty good, I saw some substance in the story also but then about 20 mins after the start of the movie it just dove into non relenting action scenes and the story went out the window.
