I met Randy as soon as the Con opened yesterday. He was awesome, and generous with his time and effort. He signed full signatures and sketched everything that he sculpted, and did the RB on anything for which he was only art direction. Some people brought a lot of bases, and Randy went through them all like it was no big deal.
I got three bases signed, and also got him to sketch the X-Man of his choice on a blank sketch cover. (He chose Wolverine). He wouldn't even let me pay him for it.
When he wasn't signing, sketching, or otherwise engaging fans he was sculpting Zombie Cage Fighter. This is a character from his friend Nate Quarry's (UFC Tough Enough Season 1) new book that will see a launch at SDCC next year. I got quick pics of the progress he made from 10 am to 7 pm. Sorry there is no front shot at 7. I didn't want to touch it to move it.
BD will be back. The doom and gloom isn't necessary, just be patient.
My sketched bases. Randy told me that the Juggernaut base was in the shape of a bean, so that when he sketched the character on the base the helmet would already be "drawn" in.
Randy signing my Thor base.
Some of the pieces Randy had on display. These weren't statues you could buy at the booth, but he would take an order and ship it to you through the vault.
