Pretty sure Swamp Thing was always a maquette.
First teaser they released....

There should be a blog on Tuesday ...especially if they are putting this up for PO on Thursday.

From SideShow:

my eye is starting to twitch from stress, im having flashbacks to the comiquette / premium format labeling debacle

Whats the difference??? I still dont know what exactly makes one a maquette, comiquette or premium format.

I'm sure nobody does and that includes Sideshow themselves

Comiquettes are extinct though.

This is the big problem to me and Sideshow needs to give clarity. you can't just keep arbitrarily name things and jack the price accordingly. Maquette seemingly used to be for movie statues with minimal mixed media, now it seems there's no clarity.

You can't take a car, call it an SL edition, do nothing to it, and charge consumers 15-20% more.

There should be a "style guide" of sorts on the website that defines what these things are, and it can be a living, breathing document that they change (IE, how comiquettes used to be fully sculpted and PFs MM, now it's scale based).

Something like http://darthchris.dk/2015/11/07/statue-definitions/

But not just winging it to make a buck.

Yeah, this kind of thing wouldn't fly with any other company (and I'm not just talking statue companies), not sure why some people make excuses for Sideshow.

Let's see what SS priced this at come Tuesday. If it is over 6 bills then we can all raise our pitchforks.

I think SS should get rid of all 1/4 statue designations and just call them Premium formats. Who cares if it is a movie character or a comic character or a made up character. Just call them PFs.

I thought that was where were at before all this maquette madness... maquette was reserved for characters a scale was not designated to (galactus, voltron, iron giant etc.)

what makes a premium format a maquette? is it a premium premium format?
